Xavier Veilhan, “Jean-Marc”

, , ,

As part of an extensive $30 million dollar renovation, MdeAS and Gensler Architects repositioned this property to be one of the finest on Avenue of the Americas. The new storefront and plaza is highlighted with Xavier Veilhan’s first permanent public sculpture in the United States, “Jean-Marc,” located on the corner of 53rd Street. Veilhan’s statue is a rendering of the artist Jean-Marc Bustamante created with an three-dimensional scanning technology to represent the form and volume of the human being; followed by milling in industrial polyurethane. MdeAS’ innovative lighting design concept highlights the angular form creating a unique presence to this public space.
