Philip Johnson Exhibition

Lipstick Building, 885 Third Avenue

New York, NY

Herald Square Properties 2012

In collaboration with author and curator Hillary Lewis, MdeAS designed an exhibition honoring famed architect Philip Johnson, designer of the iconic Lipstick Building. The exhibition featured multiple free-standing panels, depicting images from six decades of Mr. Johnson’s career, including rare photographs, building designs, elevation drawings, plans and sketches of the Lipstick Building in its earliest design stages.

Purposed to accommodate future exhibitions, the displays are made of low-iron glass panels allowing for exhibition on both sides and unobstructed views from the lobby through to the outside. The white Corian base offers flexibility to reposition the display within the lobby as the respective exhibit required.
