PROJECT / HOSPITALITY & INTERIORS

Santi

MdeAS worked in collaboration with interior designer Michaelis Boyd to create Michelin-starred Chef Michael White’s new restaurant at 520 Madison Avenue. Inspired by BBianco Hospitality’s expertise and history in Italian fine dining, the design is representative of “simple yet inspired, beautifully crafted cuisine”. Santi is an intimate multi-level space with six individual rooms offering unique dining experiences, including a bespoke bar and private dining room.

Fabulous Front Room

The restaurant is nestled into the back façade of a newly upgraded pocket park that engages passersby from 53rd Street and Madison Avenue in New York’s Plaza District. Visible through a new double height dark statuary bronze storefront is the warm glow of the onyx bar and richly detailed wood interiors. This welcoming space acts as a front room, greeting guests and serving as the social center of the restaurant. Beyond lies a sequence of more intimate spaces including the den dining room, the double-height courtyard dining room, and the open mezzanine dining room which overlooks and visually connects to the other spaces. A uniquely crafted private dining room experience reveals itself at the top of the winding stair.

"The sequence and unveiling of uniquely designed spaces, paired with crafted material detailing and layered lighting, creates a fabulous space for artwork and culinary storytelling to thrive," said Mike Zaborski, Principal.
