PROJECT / CULTURAL

888 Seventh Avenue

Home to the headquarters of several major corporations, this lobby needed to foster a refined and graceful first impression. By expanding the lobby and refocusing the existing space, MdeAS crafted a room with a strong impression. Drawing from an elegant material palette of white marble with gray veining and backlit glass accents, the lobby proudly exhibits a unique and dignified sense of space. This raised plaza is characterized by its simple geometry and refined materials. MdeAS selected the materials to serve as a visual connection to the building's lobby, melding the interior and exterior spaces.

The American Stone

Every project has its own challenges and therefore its own set of solutions. Our design goal is to honor the truthfulness of each material by gaining a deeper understanding of its characteristics. If the stone is consistent, we use it for a background. If the stone is lively, we use it for a feature wall. We take the natural beauty of each material and exploit it in a way that accurately represents its unique qualities.

A continuous carpet of stone, 888 Seventh Avenue features Georgia marble from the inside out. This stone is known for its beauty, durability, and versatility- vital characteristics of a Class A building. Pearl Grey and Solar Grey were selected to create a visual connection from the building’s lobby to the public plaza, melding the interior and exterior spaces. Crafted to have a strong impression, the palette exudes a unique and dignified sense of space, fostering a refined and graceful first impression.
